4/1/11: Huzzah! Happy April! Happy API Heritage Month! Happy LGBTQApril Month! Happy last full month of grad school classes! Happy “let’s spend all of our money before the end of the year before it ends and we lose it all month”! Despite the long days ahead this month, I’ve always enjoyed April with all the programming going on. I’ve especially enjoyed working here at UVM during LGBTQApril with a month long calendar of events to celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and ally community. Since October of 2009 when I first saw it flying outside the Davis Center, I knew I wanted to raise the rainbow flag once while I was here (it only goes up twice a year-National Coming Out Week and LGBTQApril). Thanks Pat Brown for allowing this to happen!

reblogging to raise awareness

When I worked at a newspaper, we were banned from using the phrase “raise awareness” in any story or headline. I maintain that rule in my personal life when it comes to things like Facebook statuses.

Judge needs to seriously get a clue

I guess this judge doesn’t know that one can say no to sex at any time, that includes up until the very point at which it is happening, and even after/during. I guess this judge also doesn’t know that one can wear whatever one wants and still not necessarily want have sex with anyone. I’m assuming this judge also doesn’t know that “wanting to party”, if that is in fact what this woman wanted, is not the same as wanting some dudebro to force sex on her. “HE THOUGHT THE WOMAN HAD CONSENTED?” Does that sound to anyone else mysteriously like, Oops! *shrugs shoulders innocently*??? WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK!?

Day 25- February 25, 2011.

TVC Premiere! Today was the premiere of the TVC journal, which means that my duties as co-Content Editor are officially done! The process was incredible and I really loved working with my other co-, Amanda. Just another reminder that graduation is right around the corner…I can’t believe it’s already been a whole year since this event last year! Eeks!

Day 23- February 23, 2011.

This plant is a picture of how I feel. I haven’t been sleeping or eating correctly, and stress from school is getting to me. I sense an introverted weekend full of naps and TV coming my way….

Day 21- February 21, 2011

Job Search mania has hit! This is a picture of my incredible lunch at Magnolia’s and my laptop. My first application was submitted the Friday before and I spent the morning racing to get more done. Whew! Also, that sandwich was my first introduction to Seitan and it was one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had in my life. Much recommended.

Day 19- Saturday trip to New Hampshire to go shopping with Mae and Nicole! The mission of the trip to buy a suit was very successful but…”What happens in New Hampshire stays in New Hampshire”, right, friends?

Day 15- Tuesday, Feb 15th. Honors College Social- easily one of my favorite parts about living/working in the Honors College. The tradition during the social? Eat some delicious dessert…and watch Jeopardy. Love it!
